SEC Picks: Can Arkansas and Auburn continue to pile on misery?

  1. LSU (-1, Over/Under 63 1/2) at ArkansasLSU has had an awful week. The athletic department has been accused on ignoring rape in past years, and everything has been eyed with annoyance and suspicion. Oh, and to pile it on, the Tigers aren’t very good, either. Vegas seems to agree: LSU’s only a two-point favorite on their trip to Fayetteville despite Arkansas having posted two defensive duds in the last three games. Unlike LSU who still have the playmakers, Arkansas offensively don’f get us excited. But even with the lack of playmaking machines, the Tigers will still be tested. Prediction: LSU has something to be happy about. LSU 31, Arkansas 24.

2. Georgia (-25, OVER/Under 42 1/2)  vs Mississippi State

JT Daniels is going to start, and suddenly everyone in that part of the Southland sees a little hope after the haplessness of Mssrs. Bennett and Mathis. I still think we’ll see less of Daniels than most Bulldogs will expect, and that’s because UGA is going to feed Zamir White all day long. Prediction: Georgia fans come back happy with the offensive performance, but bettors don’t come back happy about the line. Prediction: Georgia 38, Mississippi State 14.

3. Auburn (-10 1/2 Over/Under 58) at Tennessee

Tennessee’s a joke at the moment, while Auburn maintained its crown for ‘weirdest team of 2020’ after the firing of South Carolina’s Will Muschamp….who produced the biggest win of his season against…you’ve guessed it.
We don’t know what to expect from both teams, especially as they’d had an extra week to gather themselves together.
This should be fun. Prediction: Pruitt pain continues. Auburn 38, Tennessee 35.

4. Missouri (-6, Over/Under 57) at South Carolina.

After Will Muschamp was booted, two of South Carolina’s top DBs opted out to prepare for the draft, which should weirdly enough change Eli Drinkwitz’s gameplan to throwing the ball more. The problem with that? Missouri’s wide receivers haven’t exactly set the world alight catching the ball. South Carolina will continue to dine out on Kevin Harris, which should be fun in itself.
This will become a shoot-out. Prediction: A fun game. South Carolina 45, Missouri 41.

5. Kentucky at Alabama (-30, Over/Under 58)

Kentucky’s defense was awful against Vanderbilt, which doesn’t bode well against a very, very good – and rested – Alabama team. We still think Kentucky will keep the score lower than you might expect by giving Chris Rodriguez a lot of ball and playing the possession/give-the-defense-a-break-system that it will need to stem the Tide, but Alabama will still win comfortably. Prediction: Alabama 35, Kentucky 21.

6. Florida (-31 1/2 Over/Under: 68) at Vanderbilt

Florida has been flying recently, and despite Vandy’s much-improved showing at Kentucky, this is not going to be close. We will hope to see the return of Kyle Pitts to resume ‘Special K’ service of Pitts, Trask and Toney, but even if he’s not there, Florida will be more than fine. PREDICTION: Florida 58, Vanderbilt 14.
