SEC SCHEDULE FOR 2024 RELEASED

The SEC released their new, Texas and OU-expanded schedule. There are a lot of interesting games, and a lot of dullards. A lot of SEC fans have talked about Texas v Oklahoma being an exiting game because it’s now a S-E-C game, but if you weren’t excited about that match-up every year anyway, then you’re probably ignorant. The great thing about this schedule is that there are some cracker non-conference match-ups, including Texas going to Michigan, Florida v Miami, LSU v USC, Georgia v Clemson and Alabama’s trip to Wisconsin, as well as and an underrated monster in Arkansas going to Oklahoma State. It’s award season, so we want to throw around some awards ourselves, before those Heisman people get in our way and make us look bad. So here we go. CBS had the media deal of a lifetime, only spending $825 million to the SEC on a 15-year contract, giving the schools $55 million per year each and itself the primary rights to each weekend. It’s Thanksgiving, so here’s one thing that each SEC team should – and should not – be thankful for (or maybe more) this year… ALABAMA Thankful: That Tommy Rees has finally worked out how to use Jalen Milroe. Week 10 SEC Predictions: THE Alabama/LSU game + Georgia hosts Missouri

You’d not normally put LSU’s trip to Alabama in the same breath as Georgia v Missouri, but give us a second. The LSU v Alabama is a monster. Whether it’s a poor Alabama side playing a poor LSU side or whether it’s a 1 v 2 match-up, the game ALWAYS has an electric atmosphere, and chock-a-block with future NFL talent. This one’s particularly interesting, because the winner could decide the West (or at least the joint division winner!). And with Georgia v Missouri, the winner is in the driving seat of the SEC East (although Missouri still has to play in-division rivals Tennessee and Florida, while Georgia’s still got a battle with Tennessee ahead). It’s that time of year again, when drunk visored dudes in red bark at fans in jean shorts wearing orange and blue at The Landing in Jacksonville. SEC: LSU-Auburn ‘highlights’ a pretty bad slate

This week’s SEC isn’t week. It’s simply bad. Zero Top 25 match-ups. One Top 10 team. Two slaughters on the menu. A game between two also-rans in their respective divisions, and one game between teams that will be fighting it out for second place in their divisions. SEC Week 7 Power Rankings: Georgia makes statement

If last week was a sleepy wander for the Georgia Bulldogs, this week was absolute savagery. Kentucky was destroyed 51-13, and that result was probably kind on them. Elsewhere, Alabama did their usual squeaking-by of Texas A&M, LSU got over the line in a shoot-out against Missouri, Ole Miss comfortably beat a terrible Arkansas team, Florida thumped a woeful Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State did something about Western Michigan. Everyone else gave Bye Week a good seeing-to. So here are your rankings: Georgia (6-0): Questioned over whether they were good enough to three-peat at National Champions, Georgia curb-stomped Kentucky. It’s an interesting week in the SEC. There’s the Jimbo Fisher v Nick Saban media-fuelled battle. There’s LSU – fresh from getting buckets of crap thrown at it about their defense, visiting a Missouri side that people are believing in. There’s a Georgia team under the microscope about their eliteness hosting Kentucky, who’s gotten some rave reviews. The Lane Train continues against Arkansas. Florida hosts, er, Vanderbilt.
