Will ESPN change the Georgia vs Arkansas game time? No.

A friend of mine texted me today. He was FUMING. “Can you believe that they’ve put Georgia vs Arkansas at frickin’ 11am?’ We live in the Houston area, so 11am kick-offs aren’t the greatest time for our wake-ups or our livers, but we stride on. So I looked and behold: No.2 Georgia will play No.8 Arkansas under the bright sunlight, instead of what the fans of the SEC probably wanted more – a night game, with Sanford Stadium going off the chain. “They should have waited until after the Texas A&M – Arkansas game to make that call,” he said. Instead, ESPN made the call on September 20th. What was a little galling for Georgia fans – and the rest

SEC Preview: Ole Miss is all gas

If you love old school Big 12 or Pac-12 football, where they put up a kiddy amount of points and no-one plays any defense, then Ole Miss was your favorite team last year. Averaging 39.2 points per game and 555 yards per game, the Rebels worried every defense in the country. And boy (if you love your offense) was it fun. But Ole Miss was lousy at defense. They were worst in the SEC in giving up points, rushing yards allowed, second-last in passing yards allowed, and total yards. Nationally, the best they had defensive (points allowed), ranked…..117th. So boy (if you love your defense) it was miserable. So in an effort to not make any depressed, we’re not going

Tennessee hires Josh Heupel as new head coach. What’s next?

Tennessee has hired former UCF head coach Josh Heupel as its new head coach. Danny White – who is now Tennessee’s AD – was formerly Heupel’s boss at UCF. He’ll be paid $4 million-a-year on a 6-year deal. He said on his press conference: “I believe in a very, very bright future for Tennessee football. I believe that there’s a minor speed bump that we’re going through, but the kids that are in our program right now and the kids that are being recruited are going to have a chance to play and chase championships.” First of all, we know that Tennessee fans would have loved a ‘bigger name hire’, but what self-respecting head coach would want to walk into

Can a Lane Kiffin sacrifice finish Alabama’s season?

By the end of Wednesday, COVID-19 cases and precautions had taken out three SEC games. First was the one between Mississippi State and Auburn which was postponed on Monday. Then came the worries that LSU/Alabama was going to go after cases popped up with the Tigers. The same was with Texas A&M, after the school in College Station recorded positive cases on Monday . On Tuesday that was confirmed. LSU vs Alabama had been postponed, and so had Texas A&M vs Tennessee. The Auburn – Mississippi State was immediately moved to December 12th, where it will partner with LSU’s clash with Alabama and Vanderbilt’s trip to Missouri. But then comes the problem: Where do you stick the LSU vs Alabama

Week 6 SEC Preview: LSU – Auburn and A&M-Arkansas highlight the show

This week it’s normal one of the craziest games on the SEC Calendar: LSU vs Auburn. We’ve had burning buildings, missed kicks at the end, last-second touchdowns and the end of Les Miles’ tenure. The Geaux TigersĀ have won 3 in row and 7 of the last ten, but of those last three games, they’ve been settled by a TOTAL of eight points. With no-one thinking about both sides seriously, it should be fun to at least watch, praying for a Big 12 game to once again break out in Jordan-Hare (if you’ve got the over!). Elsewhere, one of the SEC West’s most underrated rivalries takes place at Kyle Field instead of Arlington, which is unfortunate bearing in mindĀ just how awesome

Alabama staying, Missouri rising: SEC Week 5 Rankings

It’s our weekly SEC Rankings. Honestly, they’ve gotten so hard right now because Auburn might be 1-4 if the SEC Officials had used their brains, but then again might be 4-1 if the SEC Officials had used their brains. Texas A&M might be 2-2 if Dan Mullen’s offense could defend Kellen Mond, and Alabama might be….oh wait…they look unbeatable at the moment. So here we go. Please note that past No.4, it’s basically a free-for-all until Vanderbilt….who are bottom. Alabama (5-0) The injury to Jaylen Waddle didn’t really slow down the Crimson Tide as they slaughtered Tennessee. Slade Bolden plugged in and put up 94 yards for just six catches. The rest of the Tide are awesome. Sure, there’s going
