The most interesting SEC picks in the 2023 NFL Draft

For the SEVENTEEN consecutive year the SEC has given the NFL the most picks in the Draft — and they aren’t all going to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have drafted most of Georgia’s 2022 Natty-winning defense (so it seems), and this year they got Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith and a 4th round steal in Kelee Ringo. Georgia and Alabama sent 10 players each to the Draft. Alabama — 10 Georgia — 10 Florida — 6 LSU — 6 Tennessee — 5 Auburn — 5 South Carolina — 5 Ole Miss — 4 Kentucky — 3 Texas A&M — 3 Arkansas — 2 Mississippi State — 2 Missouri — 1 Vandy was the only SEC school not get a player

That was a Kirby-Stomping, Dawgs

At the start of this season, after Kirby Smart’s baptized Dan Lanning’s debut at Oregon with an annihilation in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Georgia coach about his former defensive coordinator’s team: “He knows we have better players. He’ll never say that, but he knows we’ve got better players.“ At the time, it sounded punch-in-your face arrogant, and prime bulletin-board material. Before the 65-7 beatdown of TCU, Kirby Smart was thinking the same thing. After the 65-7 beatdown of TCU, you KNOW Kirby Smart – although he probably didn’t admit it – was thinking the same thing. The talent differential was so wide that even what TCU brought it back within three (10-7), there was never panic stations for the Bulldogs.

Georgia is Thanos, Get out of the way

When Kirby Smart started rolling out the classes that he did, Georgia fans went from the ‘expecting-but-really-hoping’ type to ‘expecting’ type. This season, with Alabama disappointing as much as they did, Georgia has become inevitable. Inevitable teams in college football don’t sideswipe others out of the way. Remember Thanos had his struggles with The Avengers before eventually taking things over. Georgia’s struggles weren’t with the best of ’em. They were plain bad against Kent State and even worse against Missouri, but came through those battles. And the war against Ohio State? The much-vaunted Bulldogs defense was shredded for most part of that game, but they came back. The missed field goal from Ohio State at the end of the game

Week 11 Review: Bad week for Kentucky, another one for Texas A&M

The news that Texas A&M had a shitty weekend is hardly surprising. Jimbo Fisher’s side is on one of the worst slide’s in his career, and certainly in the Aggies’ small SEC history. It’s so bad that you wouldn’t shocked if there’s the sort of field invasion that there was in 2021 when the Aggies turned over Alabama…even though the competition is UMass. This week it was a fired-up Auburn, who filled Jordan-Hare in the best atmosphere of the week despite having one of the worst SEC records of the lot. But the big surprise to us was the shocking performance produced by Kentucky, who lost at home to Vanderbilt. I thought Kentucky was meant to be ranked and have

SEC Week 10 Preview: Cancel your diary from 3.30 onwards in SEC land

If you’re on Death Row, it’s your last few days before the fryer and you’re somehow reading this article alongside a lot of pornographic material that the wardens have given you before your journey to the Great Unknown, I’d like to give you some advice: Plead that your last week should be spent watching college football – especially SEC Football. At 3.30pm ET (2.30 pm God’s time), No.1 Tennessee rolls into No.3 Georgia with the SEC East on the line. And if things go really badly for the one of the sides, potentially a College Football Play-Off place, too. Later on, No.6 Alabama rolls into Death Valley to face LSU. Even if the scoreline’s out of hand, it’s always pretty

Week 3 SEC Preview: Auburn at Penn State, Alabama at Florida

After the relative dross of SEC games last week, Week 3 of the season – on paper anyway – is a beautiful mixture of in-house SEC clashes, and some ‘dope’ out-of-conference clashes, which are the filling of some pretty dry bread that you can avoid if you take it away. For a lot of people looking at the season early, it was all going to be about Alabama vs Florida in The Swamp, with a packed Gainseville crowd looking for blood. There was going to be a new Alabama after the NFL had once again decimated the team, and Dan Mullen was going to pull of miracles? Oh, and then we saw what Alabama could do, and dear Lord it’s

Week 6 SEC Preview: LSU – Auburn and A&M-Arkansas highlight the show

This week it’s normal one of the craziest games on the SEC Calendar: LSU vs Auburn. We’ve had burning buildings, missed kicks at the end, last-second touchdowns and the end of Les Miles’ tenure. The Geaux Tigers have won 3 in row and 7 of the last ten, but of those last three games, they’ve been settled by a TOTAL of eight points. With no-one thinking about both sides seriously, it should be fun to at least watch, praying for a Big 12 game to once again break out in Jordan-Hare (if you’ve got the over!). Elsewhere, one of the SEC West’s most underrated rivalries takes place at Kyle Field instead of Arlington, which is unfortunate bearing in mind just how awesome

Georgia is the best, LSU one of the worst: Week 3 SEC Ranking

It was a weird week in the SEC. The Big 12 actually had some pretty good, low-scoring games, while the SEC was a scorefest of legendary proportions. Alabama and Ole Miss was 63-48, Missouri beat LSU 45-41, Texas A&M beat Florida 41-38, Auburn beat Arkansas 30-28, Georgia humiliated Tennessee 44-21, South Carolina smashed Vanderbilt 41-7 and the weirdest game was at Lexington, where Kentucky beat Mississippi State 24-2. Let’s not get this wrong – it was a humbling day for losers and winners. Here are our ranks for the SEC this week. 1. Georgia (3-0). It wasn’t pretty in the first half, but Georgia’s half-time adjustments were exceptional, and there was nothing that Tennessee could do about it. Georgia put
