Texas A&M's 2014 was an interesting one. After slaughtering South Carolina on the road, their QB Kenny Hill trademarked his nickname to "Kenny Trill", and subsequently sucked. So much so he had to be replaced by Kyle Allen. The Aggies could have easily gone 7-6 instead of 8-5 --- with a two SEC wins -- if Arkansas hadn't choked at JerryWorld. We hadn't heard of Drew Lock before we listened to the excellent Missouri-dedicated podcast 'Mizzodcast', but everything's going to be pretty interesting under center if he continues his off-season challenge to QB Maty Mauk. Last season was a stunning one for Mississippi State. They went to No.1 in the polls. They beat LSU on the road for the first time in their history. They had their second 10-win season in their history. Their QB, Dak Prescott, was a Heisman contender. OK, so underestimating the Bulldogs was our mistake, Starkville. If we hear that Tennessee is back one more time, we will scream. Seriously. Could they be great this year? We will see. LAST YEAR There was an awful lot of hype that the Vols would beat Florida (when, let's face it, you couldn't have had a better opportunity) and cause Missouri a hell of a lot of problems. With Jadeveon Clowney moving off to the NFL, the South Carolina Gamecocks had a poor 2014, finishing 7-5 and 3-5 in the SEC, which including a blow-out losses to Texas A&M and Clemson, and getting outclassed by Kentucky. They beat Georgia in a rainstorm and squeaked by Florida, but overall, this wasn't a great year for the Gamecocks.       People laugh at Clemson for managing to choke the big games away, but let's be honest, Georgia's as bad as Clemson is. They lost to South Carolina and Florida despite being overwhelming favourites, and didn't get to the SEC Championship Game, thanks to Missouri - a team they beat - managing to only lose to....(you guessed in) Georgia.  Despite losing Todd Gurley to the NFL, hopes are high, thanks to Nick Chubb. This weekend wasn't the greatest for the Arkansas Razorbacks, after their top running back, Jonathan Williams, broke his foot in fall camp and is out for the rest of the season. Now, a lot rests on some other players. How is this going to have an affect on the Hogs - who some believe could be battling it out for a SEC West title (or at least be much improved?) Something stinks, and it's called the SEC's 2015 non-conference schedule. Listen, we know that you in South Carolina will scream: "Hell, well at least WE'RE scheduling Clemson!" and those in Florida will say: "Screw You! We're playing FSU!" and you would be right. I would ask you to imagine what would happen if both schools decided NOT to play that schedule. South Carolina, for example, would burn, with both ADs crucified on Hilton Head Island. Texas A&M and Notre Dame have announced that they will play a home-and-home series in 2024 and 2025, the Irish announced. The two teams last clashed in 2000 and 2001. "These two contests between Notre Dame and Texas A&M figure to be excellent intersectional attractions," says Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick in a press release. "We had set a goal of adding representation from the Southeastern Conference to our future schedules, and we've accomplished that with the addition of this series, as well as the one with Georgia." The 2014 SEC season is nearly upon us, so it's high time (no pun intended, Nick Marshall) that we start our round of 14 SEC previews with the Auburn Tigers. We were thinking about starting with favorites Alabama, or the Yell Boys at Texas A&M, but we realised that we do previews, we start with the Champions - and those were the Tigers, who beat Missouri in a 59-42 shoot-out in Atlanta.
