Listen from someone who’s been to the Red River Shoot-Out: It’s a great scene, but the rest of it is kinda crappy. First of all, getting anywhere near the stadium sucks, unless you’re incredibly lucky (Dallas’ transport system is fine, but there’s no-one giving directions).   Without further ado (and without focus on the SEC’s 1-3 record against Power-5 teams this week) here we goooo……. Vanderbilt (2-0): BECAUSE THEY ARE 2-0 BABY! Mike Leach worsens after hospital transfer.

Mike Leach’s situation after the reported heart attack that he suffered that ended up with him being flown to Mississippi Medical Center has worsened, according to reports. 247’s Steve Robertson – one of the best-connected in ‘Cowbell World’ – wrote to subscribers that Leach’s situation had worsened: “I wish I had better news, but I’m told UMMC has transitioned into comfort care measures for Coach Mike Leach. Week 11 Preview: Can Arkansas nuke LSU’s SEC West plans?

OK. So there’s going to be a fun game in Oxford at 2.30pm God’s time when Alabama goes to Ole Miss to play. There’s the Nick Saban v Lane Kiffin experience (both united over their hatred of Jimbo Fisher), and there’s the old lines getting trotted out about Alabama being on their knees. But in our view, the biggest game of the week isn’t that. It’s LSU’s trip to Arkansas in a game that could be a Hangover Saturday for the Tigers. Week 7 preview: Can Tennessee upset Alabama?

Ladies and gentlemen, Saturday’s gonna be a war. Alabama going to visit an off-the-hook Neyland Stadium to face the mountain folk of Tennessee. SEC Week 6: Tennessee continues to drop jaws, Arkansas just drops

South Carolina scored the most stunning win of the SEC calendar in Week 6 when they beat Kentucky on their own turf. Also, Texas A&M was a dumbass decision away from upsetting Alabama for the second year in a row on its own turf in a game plagued by turnovers, while Georgia happily destroyed Auburn. Otherwise, Tennessee went to Death Valley and destroyed LSU 40-13, Mississippi State took advantage of a porous Arkansas secondary (to put it mildly), Florida beat Missouri and Ole Miss did what was expected of them by beating Vanderbilt with a strong second half performance. Anyway, here are our Week 6 rankings… Tennessee (5-0): We all thought this would be a tight game in Death Valley.

Week 6 Preview: The big game’s in Death Valley, actually

I got in an argument after I posting a quick 1-14 SEC ranking on my Twitter page in which I ranked Georgia as third, with Tennessee on top and Alabama as second. Anyway, Week 5 is finished now.
