Texas A&M continues National Signing Day excellence

We’d like to make this clear: Texas A&M fans on Twitter spent an awful lot of time in hope as some of the country’s biggest recruits made their decisions to come to schools, but they weren’t exactly crying their eyes out when it didn’t happen. That’s because Kevin Sumlin had already put together a monster JUCO recruiting haul, and the signatures already coming in were among the best classes in the country. And, thank God for Aggies fans (and much-maligned (and generally by us) defensive co-ordinator Mark Snyder), a bunch of it was on the defensive side. DE Myles Garrett, the No.2 player at that position in the nation, is coming to College Station, as is already-signed athlete Speedy Noil.

14 Last Minute SEC Head Coach Recruiting Pitches Before National Signing Day

Right, so National Signing Day’s tomorrow, which means that it’s Christmas for anyone who loves seeing if their school’s signing up some good talent. Why haven’t we gone more crazy on the recruiting front? It’s easy. I could get excited about a recruit, only for him to de-commit 400 times before making a decision, so I’d rather wait until National Signing Day. And then go crazy folks. Which I will do. It’s inspired by the performances by UCF or UCLA (“Who did you think did really well in the bowls?”) as well as Michigan or Miami (“Who did you think really didn’t do that well in the bowls”). Heart Attack Auburn: SEC Power Rankings After Week 12

There have been great finishes in the SEC season, but maybe none better than the Georgia-Auburn game, when both sides thought they’d won the game. In the end, it was Georgia fans who were once again delivered the heartbreak, once again by a defense who couldn’t do their job properly and a Lady Luck who would not stop by their dressing room. Elsewhere, the Florida misery continued with a loss to South Carolina, Alabama was pretty awful in their win over Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt out-yawned Kentucky in a yawner. SEC Head Coaches: Who’s on the Hot Seat?

S Anyway, our 1-14 of SEC Coaches on the Hot Seat. Hint: If you’re No.14, you’re probably not going to get fired. Other hint: Some of the reasons are just stupid. 1) Will Muschamp (Florida): The offense is useless. The defense is useless. The last two punches in the face will be hit up for 40 by a Florida legend (Steve Spurrier), and hit up for 60 by your hated rival (Florida State). You know, after losing in laughable fashion to Miami and Vanderbilt, and losing to Georgia 3 times in a row. 2) Dan Mullen (Mississippi State): The Bulldogs have gone downhill ever since mid-season 2012. The Bulldogs can’t beat a Top-10 team. Heck, they can hardly beat anybody.

Tennessee Chomped, Tigers beat Tigers: Week 4 SEC Rankings

It wasn’t a good week for Jeff Driskel. He saw his season end with a broken fibula against Tennessee…..which he broke while throwing a Pick 6. That capped what has been a fairly awful start to the year. But the good news for the Gators is that they bounced back with replacement QB Tyler Murphy, and the Gators chomped Tennessee, who looked dreadful offensively AND defensively. Oh, and LSU beat Auburn in rainy Death Valley. And Arkansas embarrassed the SEC by losing at Rutgers. After Alabama wins, Game Of The Century’, Ole Miss Macks Texas: Week 3 SEC Power Rankings

Sooo…..Alabama beat Texas A&M in the ‘Game Of The Century’, while Ole Miss beat Texas 43-23 to pour on the pressure on tired, beaten and sad-looking Mack Brown, and Kentucky surprised us by only losing to Louisville by 14. And Tennessee surprised nobody by getting annihilated at Oregon. Anyway, here’s our SEC Power Rankings:  1. Alabama – Alabama’s win over Virginia Tech and at Texas A&M is a better 2-game schedule than LSU’s wins over TCU, Kent State and UAB. Furious about Texas’ Longhorn Network, the Aggies went to the SEC, and the conference is all the better for it, people.
