New ’24 schedule sets up some SEC monster clashes

The arrival of Texas and Oklahoma may have people fuming about the teams voting not to go to a nine game schedule, but this hasn’t stopped the SEC from putting together some monster clashes for the 2024 year, which will lack divisions. THE ‘WE JUST WALKED INTO A CAULDRON’ TEAM Texas will play Georgia and Florida at home, while going on the road to Arkansas (who hate their guts) and Texas A&M (who hate them even more). Week 9 Preview: Could Ole Miss put Jimbo in semi-serious trouble?

It’s a quiet schedule this week, with just five SEC games this week. One game – that was usually one of the brightest parts of the SEC calendar but has recently lost its luster – is Georgia v Florida/The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party – is now expected to be an ass-kicking. SEC Week 6: Tennessee continues to drop jaws, Arkansas just drops

South Carolina scored the most stunning win of the SEC calendar in Week 6 when they beat Kentucky on their own turf. Also, Texas A&M was a dumbass decision away from upsetting Alabama for the second year in a row on its own turf in a game plagued by turnovers, while Georgia happily destroyed Auburn. Otherwise, Tennessee went to Death Valley and destroyed LSU 40-13, Mississippi State took advantage of a porous Arkansas secondary (to put it mildly), Florida beat Missouri and Ole Miss did what was expected of them by beating Vanderbilt with a strong second half performance. Anyway, here are our Week 6 rankings… Tennessee (5-0): We all thought this would be a tight game in Death Valley.

Week 2 Ratings: Texas A&M leads the headlines (and not in a good way)

Although everyone was focussed about a little game in Austin pitching two of the most hated superpowers in College Football against each other, the biggest result against happened in (relative) far away College Station, when Texas A&M was defeated 17-14 by Appalachian State, capping off a wonderful weekend for the Sun Belt. Elsewhere, Kentucky surprised Florida and made AR looking ordinary, KJ Jefferson led Arkansas to a convincing win over South Carolina and Missouri was kerb-stomped by Kansas State. Most of the other games went to form. Personally speaking, our big whiff was predicting a Vanderbilt win over Wake Forest. We didn’t think Sam Hartman would be back for the Demon Deacons.
