Pruitt fired as Tennessee coach for ’cause’

Jeremy Pruitt has been fired by the University of Tennessee after an investigation into recruiting violations.

It certainly will help the university that they won’t have to pay the extra money under the $12 million he was owed as part of the contract.

AD Philip Fulmer will also ‘retire’ as well.

ESPN reported: “Sources told ESPN that Tennessee’s recruitment of Amarius Mims, the No. 3 offensive tackle and No. 19 player overall in the 2021 ESPN 300 rankings, is part of the inquiry“.

It is under no coincidence – nope, none whatever – that Pruitt compiled a 3-7 record in 2020, highlighted by a record loss against Kentucky – a year after giving him a massive pay raise and contract extension.
