I got in an argument after I posting a quick 1-14 SEC ranking on my Twitter page in which I ranked Georgia as third, with Tennessee on top and Alabama as second. Anyway, Week 5 is finished now. If there’s anything that unites SEC fans beyond a huge dislike of Yankees and a passion for bourbon, it’s Gary Danielson. Almost everybody despise his take on games. Happy Thanksgiving. Finally, we’ll all be able to see each other again. We’ll crack jokes, maybe laugh a little, and try and tell ourselves that we like sweet potato pie and can definitely have two helping of Momma’s Yams. SEC Championship Game Preview + Other Games

It’s SEC Championship Game weekend, which would normally have us all focusing on CBS and watching the game, but guess what? There are other games. The Texas A&M vs Tennessee game is actually a more important game than the shindig in Atlanta. If Texas A&M beats Tennessee and Ohio State either struggles or doesn’t beat Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game, or if Notre Dame ‘does the double’ over Clemson in the ACC Championship Game, a win for Texas A&M over Tennessee would put the Aggies in the College Football Play-Off for the first time in the Aggies history. SEC Schedule Focus: What’s going to fun to be watch each week

Week 1 (Sept. 26) Actually a pretty boring week here, with the favorites for the leagues almost guaranteed to go 1-0. Florida’s trip to Ole Miss will be interesting because of Lane Kiffin, and the standout game will be, er, Tennessee’s trip to South Carolina.   Texas A&M visits Georgia for the first time in its SEC history. For CBS, Gary Danielson will try and sound sympathetic if a football player runs into a photographer (probably for the first time in history), and Brad Nessler will call his buddy ‘pardner’, like he was John Wayne in an ole shoot-out movie (as he does every week). Can Auburn’s season get worse? Week 8 SEC predictions

The mathematics of a monster contract like Gus Malzahn’s might not show it, but the Auburn head coach’s job status is fragile. The offense is sputtering (76th in the country), and because of that, the defense – although it’s one of the best in the country – can’t get a break. CBS announces first 3.30pm SEC games

gamCBS has announced its first trio of SEC games that will be played at 3.30pm. The first game on September 1st will see Tennessee host West Virginia – some people’s favorite to win the Big 12 – in Jeremy Pruitt’s first game as head coach of the Volunteers. The next week will see Georgia go to South Carolina in an SEC East clash, and then on September 15th Auburn will try and avenge their horrific 2017 loss in Tiger Stadium when it hosts LSU.
