Booted LSU DT says: “I’ll be back”

LSU’s dismissal of redshirt freshman defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao on Monday night showed that Les Miles actually has some stones. After his arrest for hitting a woman after she attempted to stop him battering her boyfriend, Miles immediately suspended the player – who had caused him disciplinary issues last year as well – and then dismissed him on Monday night. Of course, there are worries about LSU’s depth, according to Bleacher Report. Lealaimatafao would have either seen time on the field or started for the Tigers, and now he’s gone, there are holes. But there we go. LSU will be OK. Lealaimatafao’s next home may well be jail….unless his claims that it was racism that brought him into the bar fight in the

LSU DT arrested for punching woman

LSU defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao has been suspended by head coach Les Miles after being arrested for “simple battery and simple robbery”, the Advocate has reported. The redshirt freshman was involved in a fight outside a Baton Rouge bar on Tuesday, where he dug through the pockets of a male victim after he and a group of other- unnamed- suspects, beat the man unconscious outside Reggie’s Bar on Tuesday. Even if that wasn’t enough, Lealaimatafao then punched the victim’s girlfriend in the face with a closed fist as she tried to get in the way of the attack. He has been remanded on $15,000 bail, but hasn’t yet left jail. This is Lealaimatafao’s third off-the-field arrest, after he was arrested for stealing

LSU caps great National Signing Day with two No.1s

LSU capped a fantastic National Signing Day with the signing of Leonard Fournette – the No.1 player in the nation and the No.1 running back. Fournette, a running back from New Orleans, was always relaxed about signing for LSU, wearing school clothing even before class to relax the worried Tiger faithful. Such was his size, Fournette’s press conference got some on Twitter saying: “You can’t tell me [he’s] an 18-year old man”. But before that, WR Malachi Dupre from John Curtis – the country’s No.1 wide receiver, also declared that he was going to be a Tiger and “bring a National Championship back to the State”. Dupre was joined by four-star WR Trey Quinn. Les Miles’ defense was also added

LSU RB Hill and Guard Turner declare for draft

LSU junior running back Jeremy Hill and guard Trai Turner have both declared for the NFL Draft. Hill said on his Twitter account: “I am a Tiger for life. I will forever be grateful to my LSU fans, friends, coaches and family. This decision has been very difficult for me….. With all of that being said, I have decided to forego my Junior season and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.” The loss of Hill will be huge for LSU fans who – at the start of the 2013 season – were probably wondering if Hill would actually be playing for LSU at all. Hill was involved in a fracas outside the ‘Tigerland’ set of bars in Baton Rouge, in which he

The days after Armageddon: SEC Rankings (With apologies)

First Alabama – LSU happened. Then Obama happened. Sorry boys and gals, we haven’t been as up-to-date as we should be with our SEC rankings. Anyway, here they are… 1. Alabama – Survived LSU. You have to wonder what John Chavis was doing playing soft coverage though in that last drive. 2 = Georgia – Woke up from a 10-0 deficit against Ole Miss to hammer Ole Reb 37-10 in a performance that got stronger by the minute. We look forward to the SEC Championship Game, Dawgs. 2= LSU – A team very like Georgia who only woke up in the second half of the Alabama game. Atmosphere second-to-none in Death Valley, by the way. Good on you, LSU fans.

Dawgs bark, Tide rolls, Gators chomped, Everyone prays: SEC Rankings (Week 9)

It was a horrible week in the SEC. After Ole Miss tries to recover from the car crash that killed THREE of its students in a car crash, news comes out this weekend that brother and sister both die in a car crash. RIP, Sarah and James Wheat. Prayers are with the Wheat family. Second, Marcus Lattimore gets a horror show of an injury in South Carolina’s game against Tennessee. You mean, the kid needs MORE HARDSHIP, God? The injury is gruesome. If you really want to see, it, click here (for the record, we haven’t even watched it again). From a football perspective, this deprives South Carolina of a much-needed weapon. From a human perspective, this may well deprive the
