This week, he’s going to hell. Quite possibly to prepare him for the afterlife, Clemson fans might say. Rogered: Tennessee WR Da’Rick Rogers suspended indefinitely

Huge news in Tennessee: Standout wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers has been suspended indefinitely by coach Derek Dooley for an unspecified violation of team rules, according to ESPN. It is not known what he did to gain such a suspension, although Bruce Feldman, college football reporter at CBS was told that it was a string of troubling incidents that prompted the staff to make the move. In one tweet he said: “After what I’d been told by sources inside Vols program last yr, was surprised Dooley allowed Da’Rick Rogers to stay w team.” He added: “In 2011 Da’Rick Rogers had a series of incidents, incldg a complete meltdown at UK gm that sources say COMPLETELY crossed line w UT staff.” And

Recruiting News: Local WR commits to Tennessee

Local wide receiver Josh Smith has committed to the University of Tennessee, GoVolsXtra.com has reported. The article says that the Vols leadership were impressed by Christian Academy of Knoxville receiver at a camp on Tuesday. But Smith had impressed other schools, because Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Kentucky had all invited him to camps later in the summer, the report said. The decision follows last week’s decision by offensive linesman Brett Kendrick – one of the Smith’s classmates at Christian Academy – to go to UT.

Former Tennessee Vols star in court

Former Tennessee Volunteers star running back Jamal Lewis was in bankruptcy court in Atlanta on Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported. Lewis, who had 2,677 yards and 17 yards receiving in three successful years for the Volunteers from 1997-9 – which included a National Championship in 1998, moved to the Baltimore Ravens (and later the Cleveland Browns) where he had a career where he mounted up 10,607 yards rushing and 58 touchdowns. What will recent arrests mean to both Arkansas and Tennessee?

Another week, another bunch of arrests in the world of college football. TENNESSEE: This week, the Tennessee Vols  tight end Cameron Clear was arrested on a felony theft charge involving a laptop, according to the Atlanta Journal-Consititution, and the Tennessee Vols has dismissed him from the team. The sophomore tight end has one reception and four receiving yards in his Volunteers career. WHAT THIS MEANS: The biggest pain in the neck with Clear’s arrest is that it hits embattled Vols coach badly on the depth chart.
