Georgia offensive tackle to transfer

Georgia offensive tackle Mark Beard is graduate and transfer from Athens, the school has announced. The junior – who earned his sociology degree early- appeared in 14 games in 2012 after playing in Junior College. Beard was considered to be a candidate to be a starter in 2014, but now he’s eligible to play somewhere else immediately in 2014, wrote Macon Telegraph reporter Seth Emerson on Twitter.

Florida QB Murphy to transfer

Back-up Florida Gators quarterback Tyler Murphy is to transfer despite starting seven games in the place of injured starter Jeff Driskel last season. Murphy is to join old offensive co-ordinator Steve Addazio at Boston College, where he reported to be enrolling as soon as this week. Murphy had a mixed season for an awful Gators team, passing for 1,1216 yards, 6 TDs and 5 INTS, and rushing for 61 yards and 3 TDs. Sometimes, just because you’re the son of one of the NFL’s biggest-ever receivers doesn’t mean that you’re going to be an automatic shoo-in in the arena of College Football….particularly at the University of Alabama.
