On the SEC Coaching Hot Seat: 2025 Version

Every year we’ve put out our hot-seat list for 2025. Usually, there’s Auburn at the top and everywhere else just sitting there. However with NIL, schools would rather pay money on a wide receiver than they would giving a coach paid vay-cay. Hey all, It’s been way too long. I haven’t written because college football has been way, way too frustrating at the moment. The NIL disease that rampaged through the college basketball arena has hit college football even worse. Just heard from the SEC: “The coaches aren’t just a group of head coaches, they are a fraternity”. In our mind, they’ve gotta be SAEs, because they’ve got a ton of money and attract the Rock-Hunters. AP Poll, ESPN Polls are out: Where SEC teams stand

First of all, the SEC could get four in the Play-Off (Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and one of Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina), but it’s unlikely. But the SEC Championship is set: Georgia v Texas in Atlanta. The AP Poll has made everything really interesting for SEC teams. We’ll keep you updated with the Play-Off Committee’s thoughts on Tuesday. Oh, and we think the SEC Championship Game is a waste of time. A BRIEF Thanksgiving Football Preview

OK, we’re writing this at the opening salvo of The Egg Bowl (still 0-0), and the notion of ‘we need to get this done earlier this week’ got thrown to the layby because of the Thanksgiving break and two toddlers who refused to sleep. Thanks to craziness, Georgia’s back in Atlanta

Thanks to untold madness happening around them, the Georgia Bulldogs are back in the SEC Championship Game. They will face off against the winner of Texas and Texas A&M, who play on Thanksgiving Saturday. Texas A&M – despite losing to Auburn – will get in because they win the head-to-head against Texas, while Texas would go to Atlanta to face a rematch with the Bulldogs if they beat Texas A&M – therefore winning out. It’s gonna be one hell of a Saturday. Right now, trying to rank everyone is stupid, bearing in mind how much Ole Miss kicked itself in the nuts against Florida, how Texas A&M lost in four overtimes to a dreadful Auburn (thank God for the 2-pt

SEC Preview: This SEC week is going to be a strugglebus….

First of all, there are five SEC teams getting in the College Football Play-Off as things stand. That’s Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia and Tennessee. Texas A&M and possibly South Carolina are on the outside looking in. Of course Greg Sankey more in, but so does every conference. Texas? Georgia? A&M? Tennessee? Who’s going to get in?

OK, so it’s about that time when we try and work out what in the hell’s going on. With the four-teams-getting-selected-to-the-play-off-thing, it was pretty easy. Generally, the two teams in the SEC Championship got in, and the rest was the other guys. Georgia’s off to its second rough road game in three games, this time rolling into Oxford, where expectancy’s back to being sky-high after the Rebs smashed Arkansas on the road.
