Here are our SEC Football Blog Power Rankings after Week 1 of the season. Alabama — They are going to be OK with Derrick Henry running behind that offensive line. Texas A&M  — Playing to a home crowd at Kyle Field Houston certainly helped. A lot. But this defense, led by Myles Garrett, was looking changed, talented and great. Georgia — If they stay healthy, Nick Chubb, Keith Marshall and Sony Michel will be a three-headed running back monster for SEC defenses to stop. Auburn — Fell to pieces at the end of the Louisville game. Was it tiredness or not giving a crap? Anyway, the Tigers are going to have to improve both in a loaded SEC West. Ole Miss

Alabama moves to No.2 in AP Poll

Alabama has moved to No.2 in the AP Poll after being Wisconsin 35-17 on Saturday night, moving ahead of TCU who strugged at Minnesota. The Crimson Tide was still miles behind Ohio State, who was an almost-consensus No.1 after its after-halftime dismantling of Virginia Tech. Texas A&M jumped into the AP Poll as the No.16 after it beat Arizona State. After that performance, we can seem them go higher in weeks to come. Auburn is No.6 and Georgia is No.9 as the SEC took home three Top 10 teams. LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Mississippi State are all in the Top 25, although the jury’s probably still out there as to whether Mississippi State should be there after

Ranking and Predicting Saturday’s SEC games

Right, so it’s Christmas Day on Thursday, with Steve Spurrier dressed up in a garnet and black Santa costume, ready to deliver us all presents. Saban blames NFL for Sugar Bowl defeat

Nick Saban, the Alabama head coach, isn’t blaming players for their lack of preparedness going into the 2014 College Football Play-Off semi-final loss to Ohio State. He’s not blaming himself. Or his coaching staff. Nope. Kevin Sumlin: Texas A&M losses to LSU led to Chavis hiring

Kevin Sumlin, the Texas A&M head coach, has admitted that thr straight losses to LSU led him to hiring new defensive co-ordinator John Chavis. Firstly, the question: “Coach, you guys played LSU the last three seasons. They held you to under 20 points in all three games, all losses. Florida turnaround not going to happen ‘overnight’ – McElwain

The turnaround of the Florida Gators isn’t going to happen overnight, new coach Jim McElwain has said. McElwain, who came from Colorado State after head coach Will Muschamp was ousted from Gainseville after an awful 2014 (led by an horrific offense), said at the SEC Media Days: “I think part of the experience of being in this conference is realizing it doesn’t happen just overnight,” he said. Alabama RB ruled ineligible

Freshman Alabama running back DeSherrius Flowers has been ruled ineligble and will not enroll in Tuscaloosa in the fall, the school has said. The school found an eligibility issue which means he will not be cleared to enroll. Alabama is deep at running back with Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake, but four-star recruit Flowers, from Mobile, AL, would have been quite a weapon for the future. 6ft-1, 211lb Flowers was ranked as the 5th-best player in Alabama and the 15th-best running back in the nation, and 146th-best player in the nation overall.
