If we hear that Tennessee is back one more time, we will scream. Seriously. Could they be great this year? We will see.
LAST YEAR
There was an awful lot of hype that the Vols would beat Florida (when, let's face it, you couldn't have had a better opportunity) and cause Missouri a hell of a lot of problems. They failed both tests. They abused Alabama offensive co-ordinator (and their turncoat former coach) Lane Kiffin, and failed there too. Yes, we know they won four out of their last five including spanking Iowa in their bowl game...but look at the opposition. The only ranked team the Vols

So, we were talking to The Lord, and we decided that SEC fans needed to talk to Him to at least give their team a half-assed chance of victory in Week 6. Unless you're Georgia fans, and then it's a half-assed chance of not screwing it all up absymally.
So here we go.

Let's be honest: It hasn't been the greatest few years at Tennessee. The fans on 'Rocky Top' haven't had a winning record since 2009, and one double-digit win season in seven years. In other words, UT fans have spent a lot of time finding game tailgates as a chance to catch up and hate life together. Neyland's a pretty easy ticket now. Butch Jones coming in last year, though, has threatened to turn things around. Tennessee was perhaps the best 5-7 team in college football, and this year, recruiting's going well and smiles might just be returning again.
LAST SEASON

In celebration of ESPN's delivery of the College Football's week-by-week schedule and team schedules (we're just trying to get our breath back!), we're going to rank the SEC's top games for the opening weekend.
We don't know who the new Johnny, Jadeveon, or Tre's going to be. Or the new AJ, Zach or Aaron is going to be. Or Connor, Odell, Jarvis or Jeremy. We don't know how Derek is going to set out his D at Vanderbilt, or Jeremy at Georgia. You know, if there's enough Georgia players not in jail. We don't know.
But this delivery of schedule gives us one thing during the Madness of March:

Former Tennessee Volunteers star running back Jamal Lewis was in bankruptcy court in Atlanta on Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported.
Lewis, who had 2,677 yards and 17 yards receiving in three successful years for the Volunteers from 1997-9 - which included a National Championship in 1998, moved to the Baltimore Ravens (and later the Cleveland Browns) where he had a career where he mounted up 10,607 yards rushing and 58 touchdowns.
Lewis was thumped by debts after a string of bad investments, the Baltimore Sun reports in an excellent article, including a house, a transport
