Four-star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams has decided to go to Alabama instead of Auburn. The 6-4, 265lb star from Wenonah School in Birmingham, AL had committed to Auburn before de-committing from The Plains on June 5th without reason and looking over his options. Four-star safety Eric Monroe has committed to LSU. Monroe, from North Shore HS in Houston, TX, decided that he wanted to be a Tiger ahead of Texas A&M. The 6ft, 180lb player is ranked the 6th-best player in Texas, the second safety in the whole country, and the 31st-best player overall. He is an Under-Armour All-American. Arkansas and Vanderbilt have both scored huge offensive linesmen commitments. 6-7, 270lb Kellen Diesch from Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, TX is ranked as the 83rd-overall players in Texas, the 48th overall offensive linesman and 575th player in the country overall. Vanderbilt's big commitment for the weekend was from 6-7, 305lb Devin Cochran from Greater Atlanta High School in Norcross, GA. LSU offensive linesman Jevonte Domond has been arrested on felony domestic abuse charges, according to reports. According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, the 6-6, 310lb freshman offensive tackle was arrested on "felony domestic abuse battery with strangulation" charges after Domond lifted his girlfriend off the ground and dropped her. The LSU team suspended the player, a spokesman from the team told The Advocate, although Les Miles didn't offer further comment. The commitment of four-star defensive tackle Kendell Jones to Alabama has moved the Crimson Tide up the SEC recruiting rankings. The 6-4, 361lb Jones is ranked 67th on the National Composite rankings, as well as being the 11th-best DT in the nation and the 9th-best player in Texas, where he plays at Shoemaker High School. Three SEC schools have made Phil Steele's projected AP Preseason Top 10 poll, the writer tweeted today. Alabama is No.3 on the list behind Ohio State and TCU, while Auburn and Georgia are in the No.9 and No.10 spots. Alabama plays Georgia on Oct. 3rd at Sanford Stadium, and Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Nov. 28th. Incidentally, Auburn plays Georgia at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Nov.14th.
