Florida Gators Looking Toothless: SEC Power Rankings After Week 11

If you think that things couldn’t have gotten a lot worse for the Florida Gators football program, then they did. They got a lot worse. They got Put-Will-Muschamp-On-The-Freaking-Hotseat Worse. That’ll happen when you lose at home to Vanderbilt for the first time since two years after the Second World War ended (that’s 1947 folks!). Elsewhere in the SEC, Alabama got a fright from LSU but dealt with them unsympathetically, we saw the Good Johnny and Bad Johnny at The Last Home Game at the old Kyle Field (but A&M scored 50 which was enough to beat Mississippi State), and there were wins for Ole Miss, Missouri, Auburn and Georgia. Ole Miss O-Lineman Killed in Car Crash, Tributes Pour In

The Independence Day weekend was meant to be a day of celebration. For Park Stevens’ family, it’ll be a day of tears. According to multiple Twitter reports, the walk-on offensive linesman was killed in a car crash today. According to the Clarion-Ledger, Stevens was killed when his pick-up truck collided with rear of an 18-wheeler at the intersection of Egypt Road and Highway 45A at around 3 p.m. Here’s a photo of the player. Quick SEC reaction: Week 2

Wow. What a Week 2 for the SEC. And it was somewhat humbling, let me tell you (although not as humbling as the Big 10, who saw Wisconsin, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Iowa and Illinois all lose, stalwarts Michigan and Ohio State tested) – especially in Fayetteville. Anyway, this blog went an honest-to-God 9-2 yesterday, with our only bad predictions with Arkansas and Vanderbilt. Georgia looking for life after Crowell – and vice versa

After dismissing Isaiah Crowell on Saturday after their troubled star’s arrest on gun charges, Georgia will be needing another running back to frighten the life out of SEC East defenses in the fall. The job up for grabs will come between sophomore Ken Malcolme, highly-touted Keith Marshall, and freshman Todd Gurley, ESPN says.
