Everyone talked about the new SEC schedule. Regardless of what Greg Sankey would love to say, the SEC is going to follow the Pac-12 – (and Big 12 a few years before that, incidentally), and go for a system where the best two team in the SEC play each other in the SEC Championship Game. And that system would be 9 games, and not 8. The problem with watching two teams that already played each other about a month ago is that mentally, you’re prepared for a dull slog. And however much Atlanta might dress it up to be otherwise, that’s what it feels like. Happy Thanksgiving. Finally, we’ll all be able to see each other again. We’ll crack jokes, maybe laugh a little, and try and tell ourselves that we like sweet potato pie and can definitely have two helping of Momma’s Yams. During those family reunions, cousins of different in-state college dispositions will meet up, drink far too much bourbon, and argue like children.
