Missouri boots out starting WR

Missouri has booted out starting wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. The troubled wide receiver had been suspended earlier in the week (although he wasn’t arrested) by coach Gary Pinkel, who later decided to dismiss him. Pinkel said in a release sent out to the media: “This decision was made with the best interests of all involved in mind….Dorial’s priority going forward needs to be focusing on getting the help he needs. As we have all along, we will continue to do everything we can to assist Dorial and his family. We care deeply about Dorial and his well-being, but hopefully he can benefit from a fresh start.” Pinkel’s decision seems to have been made after a Green-Beckham was allegedly involved in

Missouri WR Dorial Green-Beckham arrested

Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham has given head coach Gary Pinkel another thing to think about: He was arrested on Friday night. DGB was pulled over for expired plates on a Jeep which had a pound of marijuana in car. A POUND.  Now, it must be noted that Green-Beckham and the two other men in the car were released without charge or bail while the incident was investigated. Green-Beckham was arrested in his first year on drug possession, too. Last year, Green-Beckham caught 59 catches for 883 yards and 12 TDs. BOTTOM LINE: Although Green-Beckham’s father is that he ‘wouldn’t be charged’ it’s should be hard for police NOT to charge a group of three people with a pound of

Can Missouri Finally Arrive? 2013 Missouri Tigers Preview

Right, how does one say this about Missouri? In 2013, it’s quite difficult to say that they were goddawful, bearing in mind that they had two more SEC victories than Auburn (two), and took a National Championship frontrunner to the hilt (Florida), but at times, they really did look like men against boys. This year Missouri will be looking for a vast improvement on their 5-7 year. So how will they do it? LAST YEAR Missouri simply weren’t that good last year. Sure, they battled gamely against Georgia and Florida – and scored two SEC victories against Kentucky and Tennessee – but seeing them embarrassed against Alabama, Texas A&M and South Carolina reminded us that Gary Pinkel’s side wasn’t really

Missouri names starting QB

Missouri coach Gary Pinkel has named James Franklin as his starting quarterback for the first game of the season against Murray State. Franklin, who spent a lot of 2013 injured, still had 1,562 yards passing with 10 TDs and 7 INTS. He beat redshirt freshman Maty Mauk to the finish, although it has been reported that Mauk may well get some in-game play as experience for the SEC. Pinkel said: “James has shown that he’s very capable of leading this team at a high level, and we fully expect him to do that….He’s really developed as a leader of this offense, and of this team, and we feel he’s ready to be the difference-maker he was before all of the
