Missouri has booted out starting wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. The troubled wide receiver had been suspended earlier in the week (although he wasn’t arrested) by coach Gary Pinkel, who later decided to dismiss him. Pinkel said in a release sent out to the media: “This decision was made with the best interests of all involved in mind….Dorial’s priority going forward needs to be focusing on getting the help he needs. As we have all along, we will continue to do everything we can to assist Dorial and his family. Missouri beats Ohio State, UT to four-star QB commit

Four-star QB Drew Lock has committed to the University of Missouri. Lock, who was pursued by Tennessee, Ohio State, Ole Miss as well as Missouri, is the ranked the 3rd best quarterback in the state and 136th in the country, according to 24-7 Sports. The Lees Summit, MO QB is 6ft 5, said at his early commitment announcement today: “I could have gone to UT and my parents would have cheered for me. Don’t think it would have been the same kind of cheering as at MU.” He added that Mizzou coach Gary Pinkel’s new extension with the school was a big factor in the decision.

Mizzou star Dorial Green-Beckham suspended

Missouri star WR Dorial Green-Beckham has been suspended “indefinitely” for a violation of team rules, after allegedly being involved in an incident in Columbia on Sunday. The Columbia Missourian said: “Columbia Police sergeant Joe Bernhard said Monday morning that Green-Beckham was not arrested over the weekend, but according to residents at Brookside Townhomes, Green-Beckham was involved in an incident there sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. Sunday.” He was arrested in a car that contained a pound of marijuana in January. Pinkel getting new deal from Missouri

Missouri is giving head coach Gary Pinkel a new deal, reports have said. According to PowerMizzou.com, sources have said that a deal will be in place shortly. It has to be approved by University of Missouri bureaucrats before it can be fully announced. The report said that the deal will propel Pinkel into the $3m-per-year bracket. It added:”His current contract, signed in April 2011, pays him a base salary $2.35 million annually and was set to run through the 2017 season. Pinkel earned an additional $300,000 in incentives during the 2013 season. Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham has given head coach Gary Pinkel another thing to think about: He was arrested on Friday night. DGB was pulled over for expired plates on a Jeep which had a pound of marijuana in car. A POUND.  Now, it must be noted that Green-Beckham and the two other men in the car were released without charge or bail while the incident was investigated. Green-Beckham was arrested in his first year on drug possession, too. Last year, Green-Beckham caught 59 catches for 883 yards and 12 TDs. Missouri names starting QB

Missouri coach Gary Pinkel has named James Franklin as his starting quarterback for the first game of the season against Murray State. Franklin, who spent a lot of 2013 injured, still had 1,562 yards passing with 10 TDs and 7 INTS. He beat redshirt freshman Maty Mauk to the finish, although it has been reported that Mauk may well get some in-game play as experience for the SEC.
