The final week….Is Rivalry Week: Week 13 SEC Predictions

Happy Thanksgiving. Finally, we’ll all be able to see each other again. We’ll crack jokes, maybe laugh a little, and try and tell ourselves that we like sweet potato pie and can definitely have two helping of Momma’s Yams. During those family reunions, cousins of different in-state college dispositions will meet up, drink far too much bourbon, and argue like children. There will be discussions of tree-poisoning, and dog-pissing. But everywhere – from internet to in-your-face- will become a cesspool of bitter collegiate football division. Dan Mullen fired by Florida

After Saturday’s overtime loss to Missouri, the University of Florida had no choice: Fire Dan Mullen. Two weeks before it had been his defensive coordinator, Todd Grantham, who was booted. Grantham was seen by some as a sacrificial lamb, so that his friend Mullen could keep himself around for another year. But it didn’t happen. Saturday’s awful 24-23 loss in Columbia, in which the Gators had one regular-time touchdown in 360 yards of offense, wad utterly dreadful to watch (Note: Missouri weren’t much better!). But Mullen’s firing is still a weird one. Overall, he was 34-15 –  the third-best in The Swamp behind Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer. After Week 3: Ranking the SEC

When the refs steal the a lot of the game’s limelight, you know that the reffing was terrible. And in the Mississippi State vs Memphis Penn State vs Auburn clashes, they were beyond terrible. No, stupid press releases about how these dumbf**ks screwed up the call might make the SEC feel better, but these guys should be suspended. Week 3 SEC Preview: Auburn at Penn State, Alabama at Florida

After the relative dross of SEC games last week, Week 3 of the season – on paper anyway – is a beautiful mixture of in-house SEC clashes, and some ‘dope’ out-of-conference clashes, which are the filling of some pretty dry bread that you can avoid if you take it away. Dawgs on Top: Week 1 SEC Rankings

Week 1 in the SEC was fun. Georgia shut down Clemson with a defense that was absolutely frightening. Alabama rolled – and we mean ROLLED – against Miami, and LSU lost at UCLA. Everyone else? Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina and Texas A&M all christened their series in style, while Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi State survived despite playing dreadfully, and Vanderbilt’s loss to ETSU was so bad that it had us questioning whether they should play football. Anyway, here are our rankings for the 11 SEC teams that we’ve seen this season.
