The Georgia Bulldogs have extended the contract of their sometime under-fire coach, Mark Richt, the school announced today. The three-year extension will mean that Richt - who still has two years running onto his contract - will stay with the Dawgs until the 2016 season - if he's not let go (which is always a risk in the SEC). Last year Richt led Georgia from a 0-2 hole to winning the SEC East. It's been widely reported but this is the news out of Florida - the Georgia Bulldogs have gone down south and grabbed wide receiver Reggie Davis. Tallahassee-based Davis, ranked the 17th wide receiver in the nation, was recruited far and wide by schools, including Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Kentucky, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee out of the SEC and Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, NC State, and Oregon - amongst others - outside of the conference. Ole Miss has beaten some of its biggest SEC rivals to three-star QB Ryan Buchanan, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger has reported. The Jackson, Mississippi QB was recruited by the Rebels, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Vanderbilt and cross-state rival Mississippi State, as well as Big XII giant Oklahoma State amongst others. News just in from Friday's SEC Spring Meetings voting: The 6-1-1 scheduling has - at last and despite Les Miles and Steve Spurrier's call for something different - passed as expected. The format will mean that the Auburn vs Georgia rivalry will continue, along with Alabama vs Tennessee and (unfortunately for Miles), LSU vs Florida. Arkansas vs Missouri will be a new rivalry, as will Vanderbilt vs Ole Miss, Mississippi State vs Kentucky, and Texas A&M vs South Carolina. Les Miles is not going to get what he wants out of the SEC scheduling gods, conference President (and Florida Chancellor) Dr Bernie Machen has revealed in a press conference. Future SEC schedules would adopt a 6-1-1 schedule, that would see six divisional rivals, one rotating rival, and one permanent rival. The reason? The SEC will be pushing a four-team play-off plan to determine future National Champions, Florida's Chancellor told a press conference at this year's SEC Spring Meetings. Dr Bernie Machen of Florida - talking down the road from UF's campus in Gainseville in Destin - said at a press conference: “We want a four-team play-off".
