Shock News: College Gameday is going to Bama vs FSU

Alabama pre-All SEC first team DE Da’Shawn Hand was arrested on Saturday for a DUI. Details of how much was in his system have not been released as yet. Details of how much was in his system have not been released as yet. To say the least, Alabama’s head coach Nick Saban was not pleased. “This type of behaviour is not acceptable and we are disappointed in Da’Shawn’s actions“, he said. However, the next thing worried The SEC Football Blog: “We are still gathering information and will evaluate what we need to do in terms of appropriate discipline as we move forward, so better choices and decisions can be made in the future.” Having said that, I couldn’t help but

The Top 10 SEC Non-Conference Match-Ups

Seriously, we absoutely loathe ‘neutral site venue’ games, so as much as we’d like to put LSU vs Wisconsin a little higher on this list, our morals stop us from doing so. That’s you too Ole Miss vs Boise and Alabama vs West Virginia….. 1) South Carolina at Clemson (Nov 29) South Carolina could have an unbeaten season going, and Clemson could be the last team to ruin their chance of going for a National Championship. Plus, these sides – and coaches – really don’t seem to like each other. 2) Florida at Florida State (Nov 29) If this Florida team’s as improved as we think it might be, Florida could spoil Florida State’s play-off party in Tallahassee. Of course, the Gators would have

The 5ft-11, 225lb Robinson was recruited heavily by Alabama and Louisville, and visited both schools in mid-April. Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and TCU all gave Robinson offers. No Title? No problem! Bama’s No.1 on National Signing Day

No Championship? No problem for Nick Saban. The Alabama Crimson Tide was AGAIN the No.1 recruiting team on National Signing Day, with a tremendous signing day haul. It included: Three of the ESPN 300’s top 10 players (OT Cameron Robinson, DE Da’Shawn Hand, CB Tony Brown), and the No.10 and No.12 players in the nation, too (ATH Bo Scarborough, and CB Marlon Humphrey). They also stunningly picked up OLB Rashaan Evans from Auburn High school – who had also been rated highly, despite many thinking – including Auburn itself– that Evans was a cert to play in Jordan-Hare. The move seemed to have annoyed Evans’ mother, who seemed clearly worried about what people in the area would think. Saban described

Georgia hires FSU DC

Georgia has hired Florida State defensive co-ordinator Jeremy Pruitt in a blockbuster deal. Pruitt – who only a few days ago lifted the last-ever BCS Championship with the Seminoles – said:  “This is an outstanding professional and personal opportunity. I’m looking forward to meeting the current players and getting on the road to visit with recruits.” Florida State was best in the nation at scoring defense, third in least total yards per game given up, and second in turnovers (gained). OnlineAthens.com noted that Pruitt also worked under Nick Saban, and runs a 3-4 defensive scheme…..like Grantham. Georgia fans will be hoping that they turn out better than Grantham’s defense of 2013 which – although young – struggled to keep up

The SEC Bowl Performance Rankings: Who makes No.1?

Right, for the first time in this blog’s history, we’re doing a SEC bowl performance power rankings from top to bottom. It’s inspired by the performances by UCF or UCLA (“Who did you think did really well in the bowls?”) as well as Michigan or Miami (“Who did you think really didn’t do that well in the bowls”). WARNING: Some of the teams may come in two parts. 1)  Auburn: OK, so we know that Cinderella didn’t get her glass slipper. But by God did she have a go at getting it! The Tigers ran out to a huge lead, lost it, grabbed a lead with a minute left….and lost it to the Drive Of The Season. Tre Mason showed
