SEC Media Days: Richt suspends Georgia starter

It’s not Spring if a Georgia starter hasn’t been arrested before an important game. Last year, it was Bacarri Rambo and Alec Ogletree. This year, Georgia coach Mark Richt suspended starting safety Josh Harvey-Clemsons was suspended for marijuana use, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. “The player was implicated was implicated in an incident involving the use of marijuana in a UGA dorm room on May 15,” the AJC reported. Also in the mix is sophomore tight end Ty Flournoy-Smith, who was arrested on another charge in February, and had been advised by Coach Richt to transfer, the AJC reported. Good news for Cocks: Marcus Lattimore has ligament damage, but no more

There was good news for South Carolina Gamecocks fans:Marcus Lattimore’s injury isn’t as bad as feared. A lot of South Carolina fans were fearing that the junior running back’s sickening injury in the Gamecocks’ victory over Tennessee on Saturday would mean an end to their player’s school – and NFL – career. As was Twitter, that suddenly abounded with rumors of fractured femurs and destroyed ligaments. But South Carolina said in a statement: “University of South Carolina junior running back Marcus Lattimore suffered a significant impact to the front of his right knee during the Tennessee game on Saturday. After Ole Miss tries to recover from the car crash that killed THREE of its students in a car crash, news comes out this weekend that brother and sister both die in a car crash. RIP, Sarah and James Wheat. Prayers are with the Wheat family. Second, Marcus Lattimore gets a horror show of an injury in South Carolina’s game against Tennessee. Wow. On ‘Moving Day’ in the SEC, the elevator up took South Carolina and Florida, and on the way down it took Georgia, LSU, and Auburn as it fell. Anyway, here’s some 10 points about Week 10 in the SEC. And the music we’re going to bring with it is Brad Paisley’s ‘Southern Comfort Zone’. Tyrann Mathieu really screwed up this time. In fact, he screwed up so much that he’s now in rehab, and he’s off the LSU team. Last year he was suspended for drug use, while in the off-season he entertained everybody by wanting to change his ‘Honey Badger’ nickname for ‘King’.
