This weekend wasn't the greatest for the Arkansas Razorbacks, after their top running back, Jonathan Williams, broke his foot in fall camp and is out for the rest of the season. Now, a lot rests on some other players. How is this going to have an affect on the Hogs - who some believe could be battling it out for a SEC West title (or at least be much improved?) Arkansas has captured its eighth commitment of the 2016 recruiting class after OLB Alexy Jean-Baptiste decided he wanted to be a Razorback on Monday. The 3-star recruit is from Coconut Creek HS in Pompano Beach, FL, and is 6-3 in height and weighs a tidy 205 lb. 24-7Sports.com rates him as the 55th-overall best linebacker in the nation, the 104th-best player in Florida, and 786th-best player in Florida. Arkansas has lost its running backs coach Joel Thomas to the New Orleans Saints, it has been reported. Sports Illustrated senior writer Thayer Evans tweeted the news first, saying: "Arkansas RBs coach Joel Thomas has accepted same job w/ New Orleans Saints per sources." Last year Arkansas was 24th in the nation in rushing offense, running for 2,834 total yards (218 yards per game). The running game - led by RBs Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams - ran for around 5 yards per rush and 31 touchdowns. Arkansas has given head coach Bret Bielema a two-year contract extension through 2020, in a deal that will earn the coach at least $4m a year. The Razorbacks will raise Bielema's salary by $100,000 per year, and have also added incentives for athletic and academic success that could give 'Bert' an extra $1m a year. ESPN.com noted that Bielema becomes the eighth SEC coach to earn at least $4m a year. Unsurprisingly, Alabama head coach Nick Saban is the top-ranked coach in college football, USA Today has reported. Despite a season where he didn't win his bowl game and lost to Auburn, Saban - who's Crimson Tide team is now the top-ranked team in the nation - still earned $7.1m in total pay in 2013 - including a base salary of $6.9m. Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin was the second-most paid in the SEC and the fourth-best coach in college football, pulling in $5m in base salary, and $5.006m total. Well, Alabama's now the best team in the SEC again after the Crimson Tide beat Mississippi State, while Georgia suffered a phyrric victory while pummelling Auburn - they lost Todd Gurley for the season with a torn ACL (and probably the rest of his career). Meanwhile, we're proud to say Arkansas fans have their first win of the season after shutting out LSU, while Tennessee's on a roll after dismantling a once-again-disappointing Kentucky team.
