Kirby Smart’s lost control of Georgia football

Kirby Smart isn’t the only one in the history of college football to have lost the control of their programs. The first that was acknowledged was Miami, when players seemed to have a season ticket to jail. Week 6: Will Texas A&M get a Top 10 scalp?

Missouri comes into Saturday’s game at Kyle Field with trepidation. It’s not because they haven’t played each other before (it’s 2-2 in SEC play since they both came into the conference in 2012), it’s because they were so lousy against Vanderbilt, while the Texas A&M-Marcel Reed combination has looked better and better. Week 4 SEC Rankings: Manning makes Texas roll, Georgia struggles

SEC Week 1 Round-up: Vanderbilt and Georgia impress, Florida does not, dross in the middle

The SEC was involved in four major match-ups with weekend, with Georgia playing Clemson, LSU playing Southern Cal (USC), Texas A&M at home to Notre Dame, and Florida hosting Miami. Oh, and Vanderbilt played the other game FBS game SEC schools were involved in, battling out with Virginia Tech. It was hard not to be impressed with Georgia’s kerb-stomping of Clemson. But LSU losing a neutral site game to USC was OK. We’re a lot happier with the state of the Tigers than we are with Texas A&M’s offense loss to higher-ranked Notre Dame or almost everything that was the Florida Gators. But Vanderbilt? Jeez. SEC Preview: Can anyone stop Georgia?

Georgia’s offseason has been stunningly bad, replete with a deadly accident on the morning after the National Championship player which killed a Georgia player, 13 speeding tickets, an article accusing the school of not paying attention to sexual assault claims after complaints (the AJC Journalist who wrote the article was fired, despite the fact that the AJC’s investigation found no reason to call the actual article a fabrication), and the very public continued signing of a Jamaal Jarrette, who had been accused of sexual assault while on a recruiting trip.
