Georgia came through Knoxville 'scathed' but with an overtime victory. South Carolina survived a furious comeback from Kentucky. Auburn survived a furious comeback from Ole Miss. LSU blew an early lead against Mississippi State and then hit another gear and blew 'em out. Florida and Arkansas was a nasty game...and not in a good way. Alabama had no problems with Georgia State...apart from keeping the score down. OK, so the best game of the week (predictably) was in Athens, when Georgia took on LSU. The game wasn't exactly defensively-minded, with the Dawgs coming out 44-41. In other worlds, Alabama reminded Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss that they had a lot of work to do still, while South Carolina and, er, Tennessee survived scares against mighty UCF and the even mightier South Alabama. It was a weird and wild weekend in the SEC. Georgia and South Carolina played a classic that Georgia finally one (it's been the opposite direction at Sanford between these two recently), Texas A&M struggled with mighty Sam Houston State in the first half of their game (mainly thanks to some terrible defense), LSU's Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham were bringing the circus to 'circus-like catches' in Death Valley against UAB, and, er, Florida lost at Miami. There's no denying that Georgia coach Mark Richt is one of life's good guys. He's a coach who is also just a really good guy. But Georgia fans don't want decent guys. If they did, they'd hire a pastor. They want him to get over the hump, and not only win football games, but win BIG football games. Aaron Murray's coming back to Georgia, it seems. The UGA quarterback tweeted: "Blessed to be the QB for the Dawgs, not ready to leave just yet.
