The race for the bottom of the SEC was a really difficult race, made a lot harder to work out after the frankly illogical Mississippi State victory over Texas A&M, a win that should have been celebrated by the fanbase violently clanging bells on the field. Week 7 SEC standings: Alabama smoking the opposition

People kept telling us how Tennessee could roll Alabama to stop the decade of pain on the Third Saturday of October, and we said (basically): “Are you ****ing joking? Tennesee hasn’t put together a whole game this year/ They’ve got a ton of injuries/ They turn the ball over too much/ They are going to get beaten by double digits”. SEC Preview – Week 7: Will Tennessee beat Alabama?

GSo now they’ve beaten Florida, Tennessee fans must be feeling the magic for the visit of their second-most hated rival, Alabama. If we’re honest, Alabama has OWNED Tennessee (results-wise, anyway), beating them in every game since 2007. The only game that reasonably close was last year, when Josh Dobbs’ heroics nearly beat the Crimson Tide. Prior to that, Mississippi State travel up to Mormon country to play BYU on Friday, Ole Miss travel to Arkansas in what could be a shoot-out for the ages (bearing in mind both lack any defense), Missouri go to Florida, Vanderbilt travel to Georgia, and Southern Miss to LSU. Roll Tide Rolling: Week 5 SEC Rankings

What sickens us to the stomach is that we’re nearly at the HALF-WAY POINT of the College Football season, which is basically the worst thing that’s happened in 2016 since the last crappy thing that happened in 2016. Anyway, this week, the greatest thing that happened was Georgia beating Tennessee by a Hail Mary then getting a Dobbs-Nailed Boot to the nuts via another Hail Mary, aided by dumb playcalling and stupid penalties. What a game. Elsewhere, LSU looked damned good in utterly destroying Missouri, Alabama looked good for 2.5 quarters against Kentucky, and neither Florida or Vanderbilt looked good in their game. Star Alabama player arrested

Star Alabama linebacker Tim Williams was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning for the possession of carrying a pistol without a permit. The charge is only a misdemeanour, so if he is suspended, it’s likely that Saban will suspend him for the clash against Kentucky on Saturday. What might get Williams in more trouble was what attracted police to the car in the first place: The smell of marijuana. Although Williams explained that the marjuana was his own, it will be interesting to see if Saban’s line when he talks to the media will pro-pot legalization, or against it. So, Les Miles is gone after one of the worst games on earth, Tennessee’s final over its Florida hoodoo, and Ole Miss beat the living crap out of Georgia. Alabama (4-0): The SEC thanks God for Alabama, because otherwise the conference probably wouldn’t have a team in the play-off. Ole Miss, Oh Damn…..Week 3 ratings

Did Hugh Freeze’s prayers to The Man Upstairs make any difference against Alabama? Well, at the start he must have thought that the Big H was going to deliver him and the Ole Miss faithful their third straight victory against Satan’s Tide when the Rebs took a 24-3 lead…..and then they choked. Choked. Choked all the way to a 48-43 lead. Right, there isn’t a lot in Week 2 for SEC team, unless you’re a rabid fan and you get overly-excited about Georgia dropping a ton on Nicholls State or Myles Garrett eating Prairie View A&M’s offensive line alive in College Station.
