NCAA reinstates Alabama DB star after two-week suspension
The NCAA has reinstated Alabama safety HaHa Clinton-Dix after he was suspended for two games by Alabama coach Nick Saban for a violation. Clinton-Dix was suspended for, according to the CBS News Report: “Alabama originally suspended Clinton-Dix after it discovered he received an impermissible benefit. Clinton-Dix had borrowed between $100 and $300 from assistant strength coach Corey Harris, who has since been placed on administrative leave.” He’ll be available to play Arkansas on Saturday. If Alabama needs him. BOTTOM LINE: The news from the NCAA shores up Alabama’s defense in time for the Arkansas game….and more importantly the LSU game coming up soon. Great news for Roll Tide Nation.

Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long has been made chairman of the college football play-off committee, starting in 2014, according to a release from the NCAA. “The selection committee will choose the four teams that advance to the College Football Playoff beginning after the 2014 regular season, as well as rank and place at-large teams in the noncontract New Year’s Day bowls — the Cotton, Fiesta and Chick-fil-A“, ESPN said. Right, it was a pretty nuts absolutely ****ing crazy weekend in college football. CRAZY. Stanford goes down to Utah. 4 overtimes in Happy Valley see Michigan lose to Penn State. Several ranked teams struggle….including Clemson and Baylor. In the SEC, injury-hit Georgia (almost predictably….apart from Vegas) lost to Missouri, who had a BIG INJURY of their own. Florida was awful in its loss at LSU, who found a defense for the first time this season. Oh, and Johnny Football was Johnny Football. Anyway, here’s our SEC Power Rankings, which are proving increasingly difficult. 1) Alabama: This one’s pretty easy. Jeez Louise, it’s Week 7 of the 2013 College Football season already. At SEC Football Blog Towers, I’m already crying my eyes out that the season is over….and it hasn’t gone yet! South Carolina defensive end, ESPN star and dreadlocked giant Jadeveon Clowney has promised that he will return in 2013 after missing the Kentucky game through bruised ribs. Clowney’s decision not to play the Kentucky game really annoyed South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, who said that Clowney simply: “Didn’t want to play”. The injuries seem to be mounting in the SEC, with bad news now flowing to College Station, Texas, where Texas A&M revealed that senior starting defensive tackle Kirby Ennis was out for the season after tearing his ACL in the win over Arkansas. He was helped off the field in the victory at the Razorbacks in a rainy Fayetteville. He’s didn’t have a great off-season, where he was arrested on a gun-related charge, and Texas A&M truly missed him against Rice, where they struggled against the Owls’ fast-paced offense. Georgia’s news after the Tennessee was as bad as feared: star running back Keith Marshall and star wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley are both out for the year. Both players were injured during the breathless win at Tennessee, and left the game immediately. Both players tore their ACLs. Wide receiver Michael Bennett- Georgia’s safest pair of hands when it comes to catching a throw from Aaron Murray – also left Neyland with a knee injury, and he’s getting ‘scoped’ later this week and will be out for the Missouri game, coach Mark Richt said. It’s now emerged that Bennett has a torn meniscus and will undergo surgery tomorrow, and will be out 3-6 weeks. That will mean he’s definitely not playing
