Tyrann Mathieu: I failed over 10 drugs tests at LSU

Tyrann Mathieu doesn’t seem to be able to get away from his drug issues of the past – especially during NFL coaching interviews. He told USA Today in an interview that he’s visiting 10 teams in total, and on one of his visits, he was asked by an assistant how many drugs tests he failed. He answered: “I quit counting at 10. I really don’t know.” And now, the LSU program is getting its finger pointed at. According to USA Today, the assistant was annoyed at the LSU program. He said: “If he flunked 10 tests before they suspended him, it shows that he got no kind of help“. Mathieu – nicknamed ‘The Honey Badger’ – after an incredible 2011-2

Quick SEC reaction: Week 2

Wow. What a Week 2 for the SEC. And it was somewhat humbling, let me tell you (although not as humbling as the Big 10, who saw Wisconsin, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Iowa and Illinois all lose, stalwarts Michigan and Ohio State tested) – especially in Fayetteville. Anyway, this blog went an honest-to-God 9-2 yesterday, with our only bad predictions with Arkansas and Vanderbilt. Anyway, here’s some quick grades before a longer piece tomorrow, when we’re feeling more, ahem, ‘together’. 1) We completely underestimated Louisiana-Monroe. SEC Preseason Preview: Can LSU overcome the loss of Tyrann Mathieu?

Tyrann Mathieu really screwed up this time. In fact, he screwed up so much that he’s now in rehab, and he’s off the LSU team. Last year he was suspended for drug use, while in the off-season he entertained everybody by wanting to change his ‘Honey Badger’ nickname for ‘King’. Wow, there’s nothing like a bit of humility, is there? We can only hope that a reformed, drug-free Tyrann Mathieu is back in FBS Football and his bravado is pitch only. But will Mathieu’s expulsion from the team cost the LSU Tigers a shot at the National Championship? LAST SEASON As you all know, LSU was not only shut out of the National Championship by Alabama, but they were embarrassed,

So now Tyrann Mathieu CAN’T play for LSU again…

Tyrann Mathieu won’t ever be playing for the LSU Tigers again, according to school compliance director Bo Bahnsen. He said: “He’s permanently ineligible to play football at LSU. That’s definite. That’s what was said Friday.” Also Les Miles seemed in slightly more forgiving mode in a press conference on Tuesday, when he said: “I certainly am rooting for Ty and whatever his future is, but I’m not focused on him. I’ve got games to play.” He added: “I’ve got 104 guys that I have to be ready for. I know this is a very key time in (Mathieu’s) life, and I hope the decisions he makes are in his best interest for the long term. We’ll help any way we can.” He
