CBS announces first 3.30pm SEC games

gamCBS has announced its first trio of SEC games that will be played at 3.30pm. The first game on September 1st will see Tennessee host West Virginia – some people’s favorite to win the Big 12 – in Jeremy Pruitt’s first game as head coach of the Volunteers. The next week will see Georgia go to South Carolina in an SEC East clash, and then on September 15th Auburn will try and avenge their horrific 2017 loss in Tiger Stadium when it hosts LSU. Spurrier confirms addition of transfer safety

Steve Spurrier has said that the Gamecocks will be adding a graduate transfer safety from Kansas this off-season. Speaking on the Paul Finebaum Show at the SEC Spring meetings in Destin, FL, The Head Ball coach said: “I hope that’s not against the rules,” he added. “We think he’s got to get in grad school and do some stuff. Our conference – if they’ve had issues before – would frown on us taking a player like that.” He added: “It’s just one year. Maybe he’s gone to a place where things haven’t worked out or maybe he played on a team that doesn’t win that much and he wants to go and play on a successful team. Let ’em play.

CFB Commissioners come to consensus on play-off

BCS Commissioners have come to a decision on how they want to go ahead with a college football play-off, the Associated Press has reported today. ESPN said: “The commissioners who have been working on reshaping college football’s postseason to create the first major college playoff met for four hours and emerged together with a commitment to stand behind a plan. Though they were stingy with providing details of that plan.” The news service added that Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott had remarked that the two national semi-finals would be worked into the bowl system, although nothing is solid.
