Tua should stay at Alabama next year

Alabama fans hadn’t mourned this badly since the death of Bear Bryant. Their star quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa was lying on the ground from a seemingly innocuous hit. A few minutes later, it was announced that he wouldn’t return to the game. A few hours after that, it was announced he wouldn’t be returning for the year. Alabama fans, still remembering his heroics in the 2018 National Championship Game against Georgia, asked themselves: “Will we ever see Tua play in Tuscaloosa again?” The general thought is ‘no’. He’s going to pack his bags and go straight to the NFL, where he’ll get millions as a top-round NFL Draft pick. But as Lee Corso says: Not so fast, my friend. There are

Ranking and Predicting Saturday’s SEC games

Right, so it’s Christmas Day on Thursday, with Steve Spurrier dressed up in a garnet and black Santa costume, ready to deliver us all presents. It’s going to be a phenomenal day out, and we can’t wait. The biggest pity? South Carolina – and North Carolina – screwed over their season ticket holders by having the game in Charlotte. We’ll be stunned if the stadium’s sold out. Anyway, here’s our previews, in terms of importance. HINT: South Carolina vs North Carolina isn’t No.1 on the list. 1) AUBURN VS LOUISVILLE Trying to work out what the best game of the day was between this one and Texas A&M vs Arizona State, but we’re going with this one because of the Bobby

Texas A&M WR arrested

Texas A&M wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones was arrested on Sunday morning for disorderly conduct. According to a College Station KBTX: “According to police, Seals-Jones was being “carried away by his friends” as the bars were closing in the 100 block of College Main. An officer says he saw someone bump into Seals-Jones, which led the wideout to reportedly start exchanging words with the person. As the officer moved towards the scene to see and hear what was going on, he says Seals-Jones broke away from his friends and yelled “F*** you! You want some?” The officer also says Seals-Jones motioned to the other person like he wanted to fight. The player was taken into custody on the misdemeanor charge.” Seals-Jones’ lawyer

(Another) Florida starter done for season

The title said it: Another Florida star is done for the season. Much to Will Muschamp’s frustration, No.1 running back Matt Jones is out for the year with a torn meniscus. That adds to the season-ending injuries to QB Jeff Driskel, Dominique Easley, offensive linesman Chaz Green and wide receiver/punt return specialist Andre Dubose. Muschamp said: “It is what it is. I don’t know. It’s unfortunate. More than anything, I hate it for the young men. They put a lot of time and effort into playing in this game and for that to happen, I’m disappointed for them first of all. That’s what hurts the most, to see guys go through the struggle and having to make that phone call

Jadeveon Clowney maintains he’ll return

South Carolina defensive end, ESPN star and dreadlocked giant Jadeveon Clowney has promised that he will return in 2013 after missing the Kentucky game through bruised ribs. Clowney’s decision not to play the Kentucky game really annoyed South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, who said that Clowney simply: “Didn’t want to play”. It soon became the biggest story of last week’s college football schedule…and maybe the biggest of the year. But Clowney put stories of his demise to (some) rest by saying in a press conference today saying (via tweets from GamecockCentral.com): “I haven’t played my last game yet. I’m going to get back on the field.” The tweet added that Clowney said that it was a matter of “when” not

Gators rising- SEC Power Rankings Week 6

Georgia came through Knoxville ‘scathed’ but with an overtime victory. South Carolina survived a furious comeback from Kentucky. Auburn survived a furious comeback from Ole Miss. LSU blew an early lead against Mississippi State and then hit another gear and blew ’em out. Florida and Arkansas was a nasty game…and not in a good way. Alabama had no problems with Georgia State…apart from keeping the score down. Oh, and in the ‘Under-The-Radar Game Of The Day’….Missouri destroyed Vanderbilt…which really impressed us. 1) Bama- Not about today’s destruction of GSU (it could have been 70, let’s face it!), but this team’s D and no little offense is the best team in the country. 2) Florida- Defense is nasty. Offense is not

Alabama’s Derrick Henry fractures leg in practice

The University of Alabama has confirmed that freshman running  back Derrick Henry – who was expected to take the load behind T.J. Yeldon in the 2013 season – has fractured his leg in practice, and it out for the remainder of spring practice. We would be pretty surprised if he came back for the first game of the fall, too. Alabama coach Nick Saban said this: “Derrick Henry suffered a fractured fibula in Saturday’s scrimmage and had successful surgery this morning with Dr. Lyle Cain,” he said. “With the support of our medical staff and the hard work and dedication Derrick has shown since he arrived, we are confident that he will make a full recovery for the start of
