Sankey: We’re going to play a 10 game schedule

On his press conference this week, SEC AD said that the conference would definitely play 10 games. Sankey had already shuffled around the order of games in mid-October, and will have to do again now Alabama vs LSU, Texas A&M vs Tennessee, Mississippi State vs Auburn and Georgia vs Missouri have all been postponed. “One thing I’m not concerned about is the respect that exists for playing an SEC football schedule. We adopted the 10-game schedule knowing the rigours,” he said. There is a move to go to December 19th to get everything completed. You get the feeling that if there are games cancelled as the season drags on, we’re going have to see teams play incomplete schedules. But probably

SEC Preview: Can South Carolina win the SEC East?

South Carolina has some buzz about the possibility of causing an upset or two in the SEC East, and finishing second in a division. This has been helped by the return of star Deebo Samuel, as well as 15 other returning starters on offense and nine more on defense. Last season the Gamecocks finished 9-4, with a 5-3 record in the SEC. This also included beating Michigan 26-19 in the Outback Bowl. OFFENSE As we mentioned, Deebo Samuel returns as a redshirt senior after breaking his leg in the loss against Kentucky in the early season. The Gamecocks were leading that game until Samuel’s injury. He had 15 receptions, 250 yards and 3 touchdowns against NC State and UK before that

Missouri QB Drew Lock to stay for senior year

Despite having his offensive co-ordinator replaced, Missouri QB Drew Lock has opted to stay for his senior year in Columbia. “I’m very excited about coming back for my senior year, and I’m really optimistic about we can do as a team next year,” Lock said. Lock threw for 3,964 yards and 44 TDs last season. As we mentioned, Lock will have to play for a new OC, though….and a strange decision for one at that. Missouri decided that they would opt out of getting former UCLA OC Jedd Fisch and instead get former Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley. To say the least, the fanbase weren’t too happy with Barry Odom’s decision – but they’ll be happier about Lock’s.

Bauer, Giant WRs highlight Missouri’s National Signing Day class

There’s a band out there called ‘They Might Be Giants’. Have a listen. You’re never going to keep them down. We know that they’ve been around longer than Missouri’s wide receiving class….but the guys that Gary Pinkel’s recruited might be giants, too. Only one of the SIX wide receivers who decided to come to Columbia is play for Pinkel is under 6ft…and he’s 5 ft 10. Four-star receiver DeSean Blair – the pick of the bunch (who actually committed to Louisville before deciding he wanted to play in the SEC– is 6 ft 4, while Dorial Green-Beckham’s brother, Darnell, is 6 ft 5 (Important question: What does Mrs Green-Beckham feed her kids, and could we have some?). Missouri fans are
