Four-star safety Eric Monroe has committed to LSU.

Monroe, from North Shore HS in Houston, TX, decided that he wanted to be a Tiger ahead of Texas A&M.

The 6ft, 180lb player is ranked the 6th-best player in Texas, the second safety in the whole country, and the 31st-best player overall.

He is an Under-Armour All-American. ESPN Insider noted: “LSU had several factors working in its favor, including the Tigers’ connections on the North Shore High School coaching staff, Monroe’s friends already on campus in Baton Rouge, the school’s history of sending defensive backs to the NFL, and proximity to his East Houston home.

Monroe had offers from a lot of schools in the SEC apart from Texas A&M and LSU, including Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss, and South Carolina as well as Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan State, Baylor and Oklahoma amongst others.
