LSU offensive linesman Jevonte Domond has been arrested on felony domestic abuse charges, according to reports.

According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, the 6-6, 310lb freshman offensive tackle was arrested on “felony domestic abuse battery with strangulation” charges after Domond lifted his girlfriend off the ground and dropped her.

The LSU team suspended the player, a spokesman from the team told The Advocate, although Les Miles didn’t offer further comment.

Domond came to LSU from Glendale Community College and played for the Tigers in one game, the report said.

He was thought to be challenging for a starting job on the LSU side, but now that doesn’t look like a possibility.
