Arrests at LSU are Les Miles’ headache

Before the season, running back Jeremy Hill was arrested for blindsiding a guy outside Tigerland in Baton Rouge. Les Miles toyed with throwing him off the team, but instead the team voted on whether to keep him on the team….and would you believe it, the LSU players decided to keep their star running back. The judge was equally kind to him.

Now, Les Miles must be praying that the judge and team are kind to his back-ups and future LSU stars, too.

In the space of two weeks Miles has been forced to suspend freshman running back Jeryl Brazil (for his second arrest in two months) and redshirt freshman cornerback Kavahra Holmes indefinitely (for getting into a fight near a campus dining hall).

Quoting The Advocate about Brazil’s arrest: “Brazil, a Loranger native, received the summons for simple criminal damage to property and simple battery after grabbing a woman by the neck and pushed into a sofa, said Capt. Cory Lalonde, the spokesman for LSU police.

Now, the LSU media is starting to call for Les Miles to take more drastic measures, said about the issues happening at the university: “Two players with crimes against women, two completely useless indefinite suspensions and one coach who has a serious discipline issue on his hands.

BOTTOM LINE: The arrests at LSU seem to indicate a team that’s getting out-of-control. Les Miles is under enough pressure after SI’s exposing articles about stuff that happened with football players duringĀ his time at Oklahoma StateĀ , and now this? The question we ask: Why didn’t Les Miles forgo his pride and throw Jeremy Hill off the team in the first place? Or if not, why not Jeryl Brazil? Right now, he’s looking like he’s going easy on violent crime. And even in a world that’s about winning football games, that’s not the way to do it.
